We maintain and look after a diverse selection of open and green spaces.

Our all year round show of colourful planters in the St Marychurch Precinct are beautiful and eye catching, along with an excellent variety of local shops and cafes which make it an attractive place to shop or linger for a drink and something to eat.

The Rose Garden is a place of calm and quiet, where one can sit and relax among the roses and flower beds.  In summer it’s a perfect place to read a book along with a gentle background of buzzing bees amongst the roses and lavender.  A special oasis for those who do not have a garden of their own or who require some peaceful contemplation.

With wildlife in mind our Bug Bed on the Downs keeps the bees and other pollinating insects happy.

The wooded areas of the Copse are lightly managed to enhance the habitat of plants, insects and animals that live there.  Foxes, badgers, slow worms, mice, shrews and butterflies can often be seen along with a variety of birds.  These are ideal woodland sites for local schools to take their nature studies groups to view and learn about our local wildlife.
